The Green Foundation Fund
The Green Foundation offers funding for individuals and households who face fuel poverty and energy debt.
To be considered for The Green Foundation Fund you must meet the following criteria:
Have an energy debt and utilise a Pre-Payment Metre in your primary residence, and the energy account must be in the applicant's name.
You are a resident of England, Scotland, or Wales.
In the past two years, you have not received a grant
You must be applying for a grant to pay off outstanding debt on a current or open gas, electricity or dual fuel energy account in your name, and the energy account must be for your primary address. If your application is approved, the award will be credited to your energy account. Please keep in mind that the grant does not provide monetary awards.
You must be in or facing fuel poverty, and you must have received assistance from a money advice organisation.
We will require the following information to support your application:
Proof of recent money advice (e.g., a letter confirming the advice given, a basic financial statement, and/or a Personal Action Plan). Before applying, please visit https://www.moneyhelper.org.uk/en/money-troubles/dealing-with-debt/debt-advice-locator to identify your nearest assistance service
Evidence of all household income
A bill based on actual readings dated within four weeks that includes your name, account number, or supply address OR an email from your energy supplier dated within four weeks that includes your name, account number, supply address, outstanding balance, and confirmation that the balance is based on actual readings.
Please have these ready to upload while you are filling out your application. You will be unable to submit your application until you attach the above-mentioned documents. Applications with insufficient information will be rejected.
